TMBSS Art Exhibition

Our annual Art exhibition this year was a whole service art show, held on 7th July 2016. Showcasing art work from KS1 right up to KS4. It included this year's GCSE Fine Art full course pupils and GCSE Art and Design short course pupils, Arts Award pupils, KS3 work from this academic year, and a wall hanging project from pupils at our Primary centre in Harlescott.

The GCSE work and primary work was displayed in Sundorne Centre, and the KS3 and Arts Award exhibitions were in Hook-A-Gate. The two exhibitions were linked by a 'footpath'. Each pair of feet were decorated by TMBSS pupils.

Our Year 11 students led printing, drawing and painting workshops in Sundorne Centre Art room, for visitors to join in with.

We also raised money for Art Refuge UK by selling tea and cakes provided by the different centres, at Hook-A-Gate centre, along with crafts made by the pupils at Ludlow, Art Refuhe UK is a charity that provides art therapy for refugees abroad and in the UK. We raised just over £37.00.

Whole Service Council Meeting

SANY0043.JPG

Children from all TMBSS centres came together at the Council Chambers in Shirehall to form a 'whole service council'.

The idea of the council is to promote British Values by giving all students a democratic voice. They were all given voting cards, red (no), green (yes) and yellow (unsure) to vote on a range of statements related to what a council might look like, what the councillor role entails and the decisions the group might make. Everyone's opinion was listened to and valued.

It was great seeing such a diverse group of students working together. All councillor a were awarded a school council badge which they can wear to future meetings.
